Body Care: Andalou Naturals Kukui Cocoa Body Butter

236ml (8fl.oz) for 11-14$. I do like the design of Andalou products, which is simple but cute. Tube packaging is my favourite for body products.

Excellent (only beneficial ingredients, proven research)
Good (mostly beneficial, not extensive research or just not quite outstanding properties)
OK (mostly thickeners, emulsifiers, mild preservatives, pH adjusters, all that is necessary, but not a skincare per se)
Bad (irritants and anything bad that shouldn't be in a skincare, usually fragrance)Ingredients Discussion:
As of now, this is my favourite body moisturiser. Only two problematic ingredients present here are sage and sandalwood essential oils. They are the very last two ingredients, so for the body I do not think they will pose a problem. Otherwise the composition is excellent. This is very emollient body butter due to the presence of great number of non-fragrant plant oils and butters: cocoa, shea, mango, cupuacu, kukui butters and sunflower, tamanu, apricot, argan, evening primrose oils. Triglycerides, beeswax and glycerin will also help with keeping skin moisturised. This cream is also helping skin with number of antioxidants and skin-soothing agents: coffee extract, vitamin C, aloe juice, allantoin, panthenol and rooibos extract. The fruit stem cells here do not have much research behind them. At most they are just fruit extracts that have some antioxidant properties. At worst, they do not work at all. Other ingredients really do major work in this formulation. I am also very pleased, because there are very few solvents, emulsifiers, preservatives and such in this product, which is not that common for body lotions. There is no artificial perfume present. Vanilla extract is one of the very few natural fragrances that pose no risk to the skin.
Consumer Thoughts:
Great moisturiser. This cream leaves skin deeply nourished. Despite it being very thick, it is not hard to spread and it does not require excessive rubbing in. The scent is sweet and pleasant, cocoa butter and vanilla extract being main components of the fragrance. It is not very strong or offensive.
Verdict:
Excellent product. Highly recommend.
5 out of 5.
