Another bad news is that ceramides (that give their name to this cream) are not present in high concentration and I wouldn't expect much skin improving action from them. Also research shows that ceramides have to be paired with cholesterol and fatty acids to work properly, however those ingredients are absent in this cream. If you really want to try out ceramides, I would suggest to try a much cheaper alternative from a drugstore - CeraVe skin care line, especially Moisturizing lotion PM (reviewed here).
2,5 out of 5.
Excellent (very beneficial ingredients, proven research)
Good (mostly beneficial ingredients, not extensive research available or just not quite outstanding properties)
OK (mostly
thickeners, emulsifiers, mild preservatives, pH adjusters, all that is
necessary formulation wise, but not a skincare per se)
Bad (anything that shouldn't be in skincare, irritants and fragrance)
Discussion:
This was a very promising formula made with numerous antioxidant rich plant extracts (beet, licorice are one of them) and skin-identical ingredients (glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramide 3, lecithin etc). However this cream features a lot of questionable extracts, that don't have proven positive properties in skin care (and more probable having negative effect on the skin), and few very irritating essential oils (kava, bergamot, sage, geranium, patchouli). In fact, this product has a very strong herbal scent, which I didn't find pleasant as well. Considering this product is marketed towards sensitive skin, it has absolutely unquestionably irritating composition not suited for an intended skin type.Another bad news is that ceramides (that give their name to this cream) are not present in high concentration and I wouldn't expect much skin improving action from them.
Verdict:
Overall a disappointing formulation (especially for the price). Can be irritating. Not recommended (especially for sensitive skin!).2,5 out of 5.
