Bad (irritants and anything bad that shouldn't be in a skincare, usually fragrance)

Discussion:

Cleansers are something I do not review often. The reason is that it's quite pointless to discuss different detergents and surfactants if we are talking about skin improving ingredients. Cleansers do not stay on the face and just go down the drain. So even if they do have antioxidants and such, these ingredients just do not have time to work. Only leave on products allow beneficial ingredients to penetrate the skin. That is the main reason I don't recommend to spend money of face washes (splurge on serums and treatments). So when I review cleansers it's just my own preference of texture and mildness that determines whether I like the product or not, not ingredient list. However I still do glance through the list, just to be sure it is not loaded with irritating fragrance.
I have developed a soft spot for cleansing oils, I have to admit. They help to "melt" make-up and sunscreen off my face at the end of the day easily, so I don't have to rub and pull my skin to get it clean. However, not all cleansing oils are the same. In generally they fall under two categories: those who actually have plant oils in them and those who use ingredients that feel "oily", but are not true oils. There is nothing bad with both of these types, however I do prefer real plant oils, because they feel more viscous and tend not to dry out my skin.
New Lancome cleansing oil is from the second category ("synthetic" oils). The ingredients here are not bad, with exception of two fragrance components and a dye.

Consumer Thoughts:

Personally it wasn't my favourite cleansing oil. The texture wasn't as viscous as I like. It was moderately good at removing make-up. But I feel that L'Occitane cleansing oil (reviewed here) works better. My skin felt a little bit dry after using this product, which often happens when I use "synthetic oil" based cleansing oil. Potentially this product can work better for someone with oily skin type. The scent was rather light and didn't bother me.

Verdict:

I don't feel I can recommend this cleansing oil. However it is not a bad product. More like it didn't work out for me and it is not in my price range for cleansers.

3,5 out of 5.
