Body Care: Natural/Organic Body Lotions Overview

Jason Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion; Jason Rejuvinating E.F.A. Hand and Body Lotion; Lily of the Desert Aloe 80 Aloe and Lavender  Hand and Body Lotion; Desert Essence Bulgarian Lavender  Hand and Body Lotion; Now Cocoa Butter Lotion; Now Vitamin C ans Sea Buckthorn Lotion

Jason Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion ~7$ for 227g (8oz)

Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Allantoin, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Benzyl Benzoate, Fragrance

Really nice ingredient list with vitamins E and B5, plant oils, allantoin and chamomile extract. The texture feels almost like a whipped cream, it absorbs into skin very quickly and doesn't require extra rubbing in, which is very important for me. I also mix it with lotions that are hard to spread. The scent is very strong though, it smells very sweet and dessert like, and it stays on clothes and can overpower your perfume.
Probably a repurchase.

Jason Rejuvenating E.F.A. Hand and Body Lotion ~7 for 227g (8oz)

Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Cetyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Stearyl Alcohol, Ribes Nigrum (Black Currant) Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Allantoin, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Tocopherol, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Amyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Limonene, Linalool, Fragrance.

This composition features essential fatty acids (E.F.A.), like linoleic and linolenic acids, as well as multiple plant oils, vitamins E and B5, green tea and chamomile extracts. Ingredients wise it would rate higher than a Cocoa butter lotion above, if not for some fragrant irritating components at the end of the ingredient list. The scent is quite light, a bit soapy, but doesn't linger. Lotion has a whipped texture and absorbs quickly.
Probably a repurchase.

Lily of the Desert Aloe 80 Aloe and Lavender  Hand and Body Lotion ~6 for 473ml (16fl.oz)

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Aloe Vera Gel Concentrate, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Cetrimonium Chloride, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 Stearate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Polysaccharide (Aloesorb), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (and) Algae Extract (and) Water, Glycerin (and) Water (and) Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Tocopherol Acetate (Vit E), Retinol Palmitate (Vit A), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender), Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbic Acid, Potassium Sorbate.

Formulation of this product is excellent, except one ingredient which is lavender. It is very irritating to the skin. I have to say it is a pity to spoil a good lotion with it. I find I do not reach for it as often because of the presence of lavender. Otherwise blend of oils, vitamins and plant extracts should keep skin in the top condition. Another small problem I have, is that it takes a while to buff it into the skin, which is another reason I do not use it often.
Not a repurchase.

Dessert Essence Bulgarian Lavender  Hand and Body Lotion ~6$ for 237ml (8fl.oz)

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Extract, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, SD Alcohol 38-b, Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters, Jojoba Esters, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Leuconostoc Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Natural Fragrance/Flavor, Simmondsia Cinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Tocopherol (Vit E), Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Phytate, Water.

This is the worst formulation out of all lotions I've mentioned today. It not only features highly irritating lavender high on the list of ingredients, but it also contains large amount of SD alcohol (which will dry out the skin and also will cause skin cell death). Even though other ingredients are great, they will not save your skin from irritation. Also it is very hard to blend lotion into the skin.
Not a repurchase.

Now Cocoa Butter Lotion ~7$ for 237ml (8fl.oz)

Water, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate Se, Brassica Abyssinica (Abyssinian) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Glucose & Lactoperoxidase & Glucose Oxidase, Cetearyl Alcohol/Cetearyl Glucoside, Stearic Acid, Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Lecithin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vit A), Panthenol, Allantoin, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Natural Hinokitiol, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Powder, Natural French Vanilla Fragrance.

I like this ingredient list, since it features numerous amazing ingredients: vitamins A, E, B5, lecithin, allantoin, lactoperoxidase, cocoa butter and almond oil. There are two components I am not so keen on, but I am not as picky with body lotions, and they are not the worst ones. This is quite a thick cream and spreads not very easily, so I usually mix it in my hands with a lighter lotion to make it easier to work with. Otherwise it is super moisturizing, probably the most nourishing one out of 6 I've featured here. The scent is so so. It smells like vanilla, but not in a delicious way. It is rather light, so I can tolerate it, but I am not enjoying it.
Probably a repurchase.

Now Vitamin C ans Sea Buckthorn Lotion ~10$ for 237ml (8fl.oz)

Water, Aloe Vera Leaf Gel, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Shea Butter, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glucose/Glucose Oxidase/Lactoperoxidase, Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol/Cetearyl Glucoside, Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Olea Europaea), Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae Rhamnoides) Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Marine Collagen (Fish-tilapia), Allantoin, Chamomile (Matricaria Recutita) Extract, Cucumber (Cucumis Sativus) Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vit C), D-Alpha Tocopherol (Vit E), Niacinamide (Vit B3), Polyglyceryl-10 Laurate, Orange-Grapefruit Aroma, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid.

Another good formula for a body lotion. It has barrier repairing ingredients like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, plant oils (coconut, olive, sea buckthorn, shea butter), vitamins C, E, B3 (not very concentrated, but still), allantoin, cucumber and chamomile extracts. One of the best formulations here. Unfortunately, it is not as quick absorbing as Jason lotions (but not as bad as Aloe80 or Desert Essence ones), and I am not keen on the artificial orange scent as well, but otherwise excellent lotion.
Probably a repurchase.

Excellent (only beneficial ingredients, proven research)
Good (mostly beneficial, not extensive research or just not quite outstanding properties)
OK (mostly thickeners, emulsifiers, mild preservatives, pH adjusters, all that is necessary, but not a skincare per se)
Bad (irritants and anything bad that shouldn't be in a skincare, usually fragrance)
