CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion

Packaging/Pricing:

355ml (12fl.oz) for ~14$ US. Product comes in white opaque pump bottle, that will keep the formulation safe.  You can't really see how much product is left, but it's a minor drawback.

Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceramide 3, Ceramide 6-II, Ceramide 1, Hyaluronic Acid, Cholesterol, Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Potassium Phosphate, Dipotassium Phosphate, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Cetyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Phytosphingosine, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum.

Excellent (only beneficial ingredients, proven research)
Good (mostly beneficial, not extensive research or just not quite outstanding properties)
OK (mostly thickeners, emulsifiers, mild preservatives, pH adjusters, all that is necessary, but not a skincare per se)
Bad (irritants and anything bad that shouldn't be in skincare, usually fragrance)

Ingredients Discussion:

This lotion is mostly targeted at skin, that has damaged protective barrier. This "cracked" protective shield provoke inflammation processes to kick off, since skin can not stop harmful elements from seeping through. There is also moisture loss associated with lack of protection, making skin dry and  dehydrated. This formula features no fragrance and irritants (which could increase inflammation even further). Active ingredients in CeraVe moisturizer are mostly from the skin-identical range: ceramides, glycerin, hyaluronic acid, cholesterol and phytosphingosine. They are excellent to repair skin's protective barrier. But that's about it. This product doesn't have any antioxidants or cell-communicating ingredients. Of course you can pair it with antioxidant rich serum to compensate.

Consumer Thoughts:

This is very light, almost gel like lotion formula. It sinks into the skin rather quick, takes away tightness, but doesn't leave any greasiness. I use this product anywhere on my face and body, especially on sensitive areas (like armpits and bikini line after shaving). It is always in my bathroom (I am on my third bottle already). It can be used as an aftershave for man or as a baby lotion as well. It has no scent. It probably would work for any skin type, but especially for sensitive skin or eczema prone skin. For face I prefer another lotion from CeraVe more (Moisturizing Lotion PM), since it has the same formula, but also features niacinamide (vit B3), an excellent cell-communicating ingredient.

Verdict:

Love it. Recommend it, especially for people with dry skin, prone to cracking. I wish company would add at least one antioxidant though, like vitamin E (which is cheap and stable in formulations).
